SANTORUM SLIPPED ON PAWS 

Senator Rick Santorum picked The Wrong Horse because dog owners and PA voters cut off contributions and support!

According to a June 21st 2006 AP poll, Santorum's approval rating has skidded to a four-year low as voters learn of his Privacy and Rights trashing bill (PAWS), the Pet Animal Welfare Statute, which is the latest sign of distress for the outspoken conservative.

His Democratic opponent, PA state Treasurer Bob Casey, is up by 18 percentage points since early May so Casey now leads Santorum by up to 52 percent. Only 38 percent said they approved of the way Santorum is handling his job and a whopping 45% disapproved.

This is significant because Pennsylvania voters who approved of Bush's handling of the war in Iraq increased to 35 percent, up from 29 percent. So Santorum is going down with PAWS as the president's numbers go up.

More than 40 percent of Casey's supporters said they are more against electing Santorum than they are specifically for Casey. Of course a Santorum spokeswoman said polls are unreliable at this stage in the campaign. Santorum plans to air the first statewide TV commercials of his campaign on Friday, she said.

Could that be why Santorum was visiting the AKC Board?

Picking up cash contributions? ^{ref [1]} Or looked at another way, could that be why AKC upped the ante? The people said "NO" to PAWS and even Republicans are not thrilled with Santorum's positions. The Democrats should be proud of this one.

Just look what concerned dog owners and hobby breeders can do to a hot-shot presidential candidate!  While "Animal Rights" have not (yet) been mentioned, is this part of that very subversive political plot to subvert the Rights of American citizens?

2007 Note: Rick Santorum was voted out of office or as dog owners prefer to say, "kicked out."   His violations of the Constitution, Civil Rights and Liberties did not sit well with Pennsylvania voters.
