THE Politics Of Masks And Medicine

NetPlaces Network Staff

Have you wondered WHO is protected by masks and how long the COVID virus lasts on everything in a store including checkout counters and paper money?

Politics Of Masks And Medicine Dec 2021

The publisher, who is well-versed in matters of human and animal health, asked us to do in-depth research mask effiency for the wearer. The result was as conclusive as it was surprising - not one public medical study that cited wearer-effectivness.

We did find something you may not have thought about...Tufts veterinary school reminds us that "Dogs rely heavily on nonverbal communication. They read human body language and facial expressions better than people do. Things that cover or obscure our faces can be alarming for them." —

This is not to suggest we should cease wearing masks because of course we want to protect other people. We're told a person can transmit the virus before they become aware that they are infected.

The NetPlaces Network writers have done as much or more to protect dogs and other animals than any news outlet. Our medical doctors and veterinarians do not want to mislead our readers, either inadvertently or by ommission of fact.

Now to the politcal basis and ongoing supression of fact. Many news hounds are of the opinion that China hit us with COVID 19 in retaliation for President Trump raising tariffs on imports from China. As an astute businessman, obviously he did that to correct a long-standing trade imbalance of over $419.2 billion in 2018.

It should also be noted that over 70% of our prescription drugs or their ingredients are made in China {Ref #1}. That includes veterinary medicines because many of them are human prescriptions (or vice-versa) that are simply packaged and labeled differently.

When you think about it, what impacts hobby breeders more than the cost of veterinary services and pet medications?  Many of you would say it could be all those “animal rights” laws that we have rolled over on… The movement took off in the 1970s with Peter Singer and went mainstream in the 80s. In many publicized instances, the “rights” of animals took priority over Human and Civil rights as enumerated in our Constitution.

That noted, most scholars would agree that in 2021 Animal Rights takes a backseat to the Constitutional crisis which allows foreign medical authorities (think Dr. Anthony Fauci) to dictate social as well as medical protocol.

President Trump did pretty well on prioritizing our Constitution after taking office. In fact, we actually made progress with introduction of the historic PACT Act, Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act {Ref #2} and importantly the PACT Act redefines acts of animal cruelty as a federal crime punishable with fines and up to seven years in prison. President Trump signed the Animal Cruelty Bill into law in November 2019.

As 2020 passed the half-way mark, subversive forces still used animal issues to usurp our Constitutional Rights and to destroy the freedom that makes America the nation everyone wants to come to.

Today we have the Border crisis, COVID 19, the psychological and economic effect of quarentine, the social and educational problems for our offspring, from First Graders to College students. Then factor in the mask mandates and the bevy of associated psychological problems and we have the perfect storm...

PPay attention to all proposed regulations and new laws in your city and state. For example, corona virus has stirred up a bevy of controversy among those who do or don’t believe wearing masks should be compulsory. If your neighbor has a breathing problem and can’t handle wearing a mask, he has the Right not to obstruct his airway. He also has the Right to go to the same stores you frequent...

But wait, before your ruff goes up, let’s be clear on this – a mask only protects other people from your cough or sneeze. A mask does not protect YOU from inhaling airborne germs or viruses.

Mayo Clinic explains “Surgical masks may protect others by reducing exposure to the saliva and respiratory secretions of the mask wearer.

The (accidental or not) release of a particularly deadly “flu” has horribly impacted our economy and our psychological assurance in our own security. COVID 19 has killed over 177,000 Americans and infected nearly 6 million people in the U.S. Thankfully, our SAAB veterinarians assure us it does not affect pets.

Does wearing a mask make you feel safer or does it remind you how vulnerable you are?

As an aside, we tend not to notice what we don’t see or hear. Whether predator or prey, that is the way nature made us. But that doesn’t mean the most intelligent creature on the planet is too busy to think and to recognize a threat. We are after all, still endowed with instinct that is not always tamped down by reason.

We trust that our current leaders are equally “with it” as regards our psychological freedom and security.

As an astute dog owner, you know how to read expression and body language. It is a little harder when someone is wearing a mask so trust your instincts. Your though processes may be assaulted by news, COVID stats, politics, or even affected by lack of oxyegen.

If you are hurrying through the store or up the esculator and feel "winded" or your head is spinning, TAKE OFF YOUR MASK, breath deeply and slowly (don't pant, that makes you exhale oxygene before your lungs can fully uptake!) and sit down until you feel okay.
