37th PARALLEL ANIMAL HIGHWAY

Barbara "BJ" Andrews, Member SAAB

Scientists cannot explain the 37th Parallel phenomenon nor how dogs can navigate great distances to find their families - unless there’s a 6th sense connection.

The 37th parallel defines the southern border of Utah, Colorado and Kansas and on the north, Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Scientists cannot explain the 37th Parallel phenomenon nor how dogs can navigate great distances to find their families - unless there’s a 6th sense connection.

These states form what has become known as “The UFO Highway” due to unexplained phenomenon which in today’s science-driven research, drives scientists nuts! It also confounds dog breeders who study everything from astrology to zoology. The irony is that we can put men on the moon but we will never understand how Lassie got home.

OK, that was just a movie… but it happens in real life.

Dogs probably understand more about us than do the best psychologists. You can’t lie to a dog. And dogs don’t overthink stuff but they can “sense” what no machine can register or explain. My guess is that animals UN-thinkingly decide if it is worth a taste, needs to be marked, or is best ignored.

So, you’d think we smarter humans would want to at least take a quick sniff of a puzzle like the 37th parallel which is associated with unexplained phenomena. In fact, the 37th parallel is commonly referred to as the "UFO Highway” because that latitude line runs through the central United States and is so often is the basis for strange occurrences, from livestock mutilations to unexplainable lights in the sky.

The 37th parallel is famous among laymen scientists. The degreed folks won’t even talk about it in less than a scoffing, joking manner. They simply don’t want to acknowledge what they can’t explain.

But there are ever more UAPs (Unexplained Aerial Phenomena) cited nowadays. Mainstream media is forced to cover what has become more “common” in 2025 and we predict such phenomena will increase in 2026. Does it have to do with our increasing ability to explore “space”? Most outer space scientists say “of course” and are increasingly excited about it.

Our NetPlaces Network writers are also excited about the unknown but we have not forgotten the death of the little Russian space-dog, Laika. She died a horribly gruesome death due to overheating and stress. Surely the scientists knew what would happen…

Exploring the 37th Parallel can and must be done safely. No dogs involved!
