Vets Save Python

After It Swallowed A Dog Harness

Staff

Zoo vets pulled an entire dog harness out of the stomach of a wild python, it was brought to them by a concerned animal lover.

The huge carpet python "Pablo" was spotted by a worried animal lover who noticed he was having trouble. Why? Because he had downed a dog harness from a garden in Queensland, Australia.

The vets from the Australian Zoo performed a delicate operation to find and pull out the pink double harness, the dog lead and poop bags. Perhaps the snake thought the dog lead was another snake/reptile and once it started to eat it, he couldn't stop. Snakes don't chew they swallow everything whole.

We are sure "Pablo" feels better now that the obstructions have been removed, we're relieved there wasn't a dog attached and that he has been released back into the wild.
