CLUMBER SPANIEL

CERTIFIED BREED REPRESENTATIVE

The Clumber is a moderately coated retriever distinguished by his long, low, heavy body.  Averaging 18" and 70 pounds, he's kid-huggable and made for leisurely field work.

Clumburnes Kennels, Bilinda & Greg Osburne, specialize in top show Clumber Spaniels that also excell as upland bird dogs Bilinda & Greg Osburne, Certified Breed Representative

The Clumber Spaniel was among the first specialized field breeds developed in France and England. The Clumber’s sturdy body, shorter legs, and easy but determined disposition were prized by those who hunted game birds for sport or the table. The form and function of the Clumber is displayed by Jazz, Rosie and Ben in their upland game hunting field work. Clumber Spaniels truly love to do what they were bred for; to work closely and flush and retrieve game birds in the thickest of cover. The Clumber’s soulful expression lights up when we prepare for the field!  We hope more owners will explore hunting as well as breed ring exhibition with Clumbers that retain the instinct to be all-around Best Buddies.

Clumburnes Kennels: Bilinda fell for Clumbers at "Meet the Breeds" during the 2008 AKC/Eukanuba National Championships in Long Beach. She wanted an upland game hunting and show dog and the Clumber fit the bill. The Osburnes traveled from California to Iowa for Jasmine and Bentley. Dick Greaver, who teaches conformation handling for Antelope Valley KC, started them on their show career!  Greg and Bilinda will be breeding soon and they invite inquires from potential owners of confirmation, hunting and companion pups.
