Unlike gladiators, men who were forced to fight to the death, roosters do what comes naturally.  While outlawed in most of the U.S., in Puerto Rico, cockfighting remains a treasured pastime, a high-stakes gamble with bets exceeding that of the average horse or dog racing event.
