Barbara "BJ" AndrewsBarbara has served as columnist for The Dog newspaper, Dog World, Kennel Review Magazine,The AKC Gazette, and Canine Chronicle since the late 60s until 1993 when she became exclusive columnist for ShowSight Magazine.


In 1974 she published The Akita Handbooks and instituted the Register Of Merit system for top producing sires and dams.  The ROM title was subsequently adopted by many National clubs.


She has authored eight breed books published in eight languages, including World Of The Akita (Breed Book Of The Year Nominee), The Chihuahua, and The Miniature Bull Terrier.


Mrs. Andrews founded the NetPlaces Network, launching the world's first all-breeds website, in 1998, the world's first digital dog news, in 2002 (Meet TheDogPress) and the in 2005.  She is a proud member of the Science and Advisory Board


"BJ" (CSI Hall of Fame Breeder) and husband Bill (deceased 2005) owner-handled multiple AKC Group and Best In Show winners to national All-Breed show rankings.


The O'BJ breeding program which has never exceeded 12 dogs, has so far produced over 290 AKC Champions including over half of the All Time Top Ten ROM Akitas. "Akitas O'BJ" are still the All Time #1, 2, and 4 Top Sires and two O'BJ bitches remain tied for Top Producing Dam All Time.


A nationally-ranked Bengal cat breeder (TopSpot), and founder of the Miniature Bull Terrier Club Of America, she is known for exploring and developing new breeds but has been exclusively devoted to the Toy Fox Terrier since 2001.  Contact Mrs. Andrews at Editor or
