Toy Fox Terrier
Descended from the Smooth Fox Terrier and Chihuahua, this American origonal is a "fiesty" little dog, often confused about being a terrier in a toy dog's body! Averaging 7 pounds and 10", he's sturdy, cobby, and extremely agile. His hardiness, handy size and incredible intelligence made him popular with circus performers and farmers. Absolutely devoted to his owner and brimming with courage, he's the perfect companion/watchdog as nothing escapes his attention. AKA Ameri-Toy and American Toy Terrier. -

Toy Fox Terriers understand a lot of what you say and most of what you’re thinking! They communicate in uncanny ways, like sending you a thought when you’re engrossed in your favorite TV show. Like “let’s have a snack” or “I’m bored” if it’s a drama with no animals. But he can’t write so Speed Bump asked me to tell you how much they love children, learning new tricks, hunting for bugs, sleeping under the covers, and going places. They have favorite TV shows, love fruit, oh, and he said to tell you male Toy Fox Terriers are easy to house train no matter what people tell you about “toy” breeds. Wait… he said that’s because he’s more terrier than toy. By the way, that’s why they are so healthy and hardy, impervious to pain, and if built right, able to run and hunt (or show) all day without faltering. Unlike some terriers though, they are not hyper-active and are quite content to curl up on the sofa or your lap. Economical to own, great companions for elderly or active folks, this breed is a classy, sassy, handy sized dog that is welcomed wherever you go. (He said I did okay)

Speed Bump O'BJ won ribbons at his first National Specialty and will finish his championship this fall. He rides "Shot Gun" when I have to travel alone. He’s my buddy, the best alarm system money can buy and a top notch snuggler for TV time or sleeping under the covers.

Linn Vandiver - established Sea Breeze show kennels in New Hampshire 22 years ago, breeding Nationally Ranked, ROM Akitas and Shibas. Linn divorced, moved to New Mexico, met and married Steve Vandiver but she missed showing dogs. After months of research, she decided on Toy Fox Terriers. First came Speed Bump, followed by Ch. Boo, who finished undefeated, then little Peepers. An exciting litter is planned for Ch. Boo soon. You’ll find Steve, Linn, and the Desert Breeze Toy Fox Terriers in their motor home at the shows or visit them at home, where “the coffee is always on.
