Short (Taboo Kennels) has been
breeding and showing his own Akitas for 12 years during which time he has
produced 20 champions out of limited breedings. Two of those have been Group
winning and multiple Group Placing dogs. In conjunction with handling, he has
finished over 25 Akitas and several English Mastiffs and Staffordshire Bull
Terriers, including a Group Winning bitch. Richard says “In my other life I
promote good ethical breeders and their dogs for TheDogPlace.com. I am
striving every day to become a more knowledgeable breeder and to improve the
Akita Breed.” The photo depicts one of his Group Placing bitches, Ch. Tina
Since 1962 Bill and
Barbara Andrews (ShowDogs
O’BJ) have bred over 200 AKC Champions in four breeds, over half of which
have been BIS, Group, Specialty winners or Register Of Merit Producers.
"BJ" judges AKC non-regular classes and Open-Level shows in the U.K.
but breeding, writing, and educational projects take precedence.
Having served on the board of several Breed clubs, including JEC Chair for the
Akita Club Of America, “BJ” listens carefully to the judging community,
has done Hands-On Training Matches for the SCJA, and enjoys doing seminars and
workshops. This photo was selected in tribute to the “First Lady”
judge of Akitas, Mrs. Virginia Hampton, and Ch. Sachmo, the Akita icon.
