This simple guide
will help you assemble your information
(Don't stress about the word count, the editors will condense
if necessary)
Ready? Let's go!
It's your breed, tell us about it,
. . . explain the physical and behavioral
characteristics. Be honest but not negative. For
example, if your breed is not notably good with small children, you
might suggest it is best suited for older children or active
adults. If the current trend is toward oversized dogs you can
mention that and send related info to be included in the
Reference Section. We send Judges there
from The Judges' Place.
Breed Description limited to 200
words.
Your contact info and background
. . . may
include breed-specific, personal, and/or professional information.
Contact info is included so people can reach you directly or you can send them to your website.
Breed Representative Bio limited to
100 words
A photo that best depicts the breed
. . .
is worth a thousand words but go ahead, describe
the dog's success in the show ring or as a producer, his/her personality, sire, dam,
or
why it is a great example of the breed. The photo can be a show photo, head
study or a candid. Media Dept. will crop if needed. As
a Certified Breed Representative, you are also encouraged to submit additional
photos and information for the Breed Reference Section over which you will have
input and a degree of control!
Photo caption limited to 50 words
One last thing,
Email Media Dept. the
registered names of
Three Champions, and/or Top Ten Winners or Top
Producers bred by you.
An online form is being set up
but in the meantime, assemble your
Breed Description, Photo
Caption, and Bio in an
email or word document,
and don't forget to attach
your dog's photo
to the email.
Media
Editors will assist you
. . . in fine tuning your work, so that you are
able to provide the most pertinent information in the fewest words
