Who Says I Don't Care For My Dogs?

It's me who's here from dawn to dawn.
It's me who sees all work is done.
It's me who brushes, bathes, and clips,
And me who every nail does nip.
Trudging through rain, snow, hail or fog.
Who says that I don't care for my dogs?

It's me who tosses toys and balls,
Not for just one, but for any and all.
It's me who sits up through long, dark nights
To watch as comes each new life.
Trudging through rain, snow, hail or fog.
Who says that I don't care for my dogs?

It's me who sorts newspapers and shreds
All through the winter for hours on end.
It's me who nurses those who fall ill
And me who pays ongoing vet bills.
Trudging through rain, snow, hail or fog.
Who says that I don't care for my dogs?

It's me who builds, paints and repairs
Everything from kennels to stairs.
It's me who sweeps, scrubs and mops
Everything, everyday from bottom to top.
Trudging through rain, snow, hail or fog.
Who says that I don't care for my dogs?

My dogs don't have rights, but they have a good life.
They live in clean quarters because of my strife.
They get shots when they're due, like it or not,
My attention and love, they've always got.
Trudging through rain, snow, hail, or fog
All year 'round to care for my dogs.

So please hold your judgment of me and my crew
Until you have met us to see what we do.
My dogs are happy with treats, toys and bones.
They may live in a kennel, but it's also their home.

All year 'round I care for my dogs!

What's that you say...I should do it for free?
I should work day and night for no money?
I have a deal I will make with you;
When the world works for free, I will too.
