THIEVES

There's a reason it's called Thieves.  For five centuries, the oils have worked to protect people from bacterial infection and even viruses.  A lot of products are antibacterial and some actually do kill virus but you would never ingest them, apply them to your skin, and unlike Thieves, they don't boost your immune system.

Thus gypsy “thieves" were largely responsible for halting the spread of the plague which we now know was spread by rats, much like the hanta virus of 2008.

Although the plague forever tarnished gypsies as thieves, robbers of the dead, they became grudgingly acknowledged as healers. Not only were they immune to the plague, they obviously had secret potions with which they healed themselves. Physicians of the time began to study the gypsies and little by little, the thieves formula was uncovered.
