Rottweilers have served mankind since Roman times as cattle drover, draft dog, police dog, and today, a loyal and protective family dog. The Rottie is a robust, short coated, 26" heavyweight companion and a strong deterrent to intruders.

I think of the Rottweiler as an all-purpose farm dog. He herds, he guards, he can even pull a milk cart! We should never forget his versatility and although milk carts are scarce today, Rotties excel in weight pulling, obedience and tracking. A Rottweiler should be strong of mind and body. His gait must be effortless and free flowing. He welcomes any form of training and indeed, requires mental and physical exercise. Rottweilers are athletic and gifted with great endurance although considerate owners will grant him a reprieve from mid-day summer sun due to his glossy black coat. The Rottweiler herded, pulled his weight, and protected the Roman army. He stands confident and capable of serving his owner in just about any capacity today.

There is no other breed for me than a Rottweiler, they can do it all! Of all the working breeds recognized by AKC, Rottweilers are the most versatile. The perfect farm, working stock, obedience, and family companion dog. Rottweilers are biddable, stable in mind and body having sound temperaments. Originally from Italy, they were brought to Germany by the Romans, where they became popular in the town of Rottweil. Known as the "butcher’s dog", they herded and drove cattle, carted the meat, and were the family protector. Today’s Rottweilers are versatile, smart, and are able to receive high working scores in obedience, tracking, agility, and herding. They also make great therapy and service dogs. Once you own a Rotty, you'll never go BACK!!!

Agresta Rottweilers My love for Rottweilers began with my first rescue abandoned in my barn in 1985, which then started a few more rescues after that... After retiring from showing my horses, it was an easy transition to the dog world as I was already competing in obedience with my Rottweilers. I am dedicated to promoting the Rottweiler breed for all its worthiness. Member of ARC/MRC/CRC/GRC/SRC, AKC Legislative Liaison: GRC and SRC, AKC Breeder of Merit.
