My Mini-Poodle Breeding Program

 Poodles are a
life long passion that began in 1965 when I obtained my first poodle Loui,
from a brown half mini, half toy pedigree. My sister was Bobbie Cheely, who
founded the famous “Tuff” Borzoi and herself became the breeder of over 30
Champions and field dogs.
My
sister taught me the rudiments of grooming which I enjoyed. It was a time of
closeness and confiding in Loui. Several years later I added Sassy, CDX (Starfires
Black Magnet) to my pets. Sassy became my obedience star…and I was literally
launched into the dog world.
Having shown dairy cows and horses in high school, I was at ease in the
poodle show ring, and obedience fed my passion to breed total dogs, not just
pretty ones. I would stand outside the poodle rings and think “one day I
will breed beautiful dogs like that with brains like my Sassy.”
Mary Wright Goss helped me begin to achieve that goal. I obtained a handsome
Miniature Poodle, Ch. Blackbrook Gambit, from her and put a CD title on him.
Then I bred him to Sassy, kept a pup and off into breeding poodles I went.
Next came my second AKC Champion poodle, Ch. Blackbrook Miriah Dawn. I
showed her myself and she beat some great poodles and their famous handlers.
She finished with Rick Koester on the lead under the famous James Clark. I
was hooked for life. In fact, showing, grooming and breeding miniature
poodles became a big part of my life.
  My pedigrees today trace back to many of the original mini poodles I used.
In turn I have carefully placed the BRAINS with trusted people who have
proven over and over again that my poodles are consistently total dogs. They
are capable of winning blue ribbons and championship titles for beauty and
conformity to the poodle standard, and also excel in obedience, hunting,
Freestyle, Therapy Dogs International, and agility titles that demand sound
minds in sound bodies. Either ring,
my poodles love to perform and make
their people happy.
 Barbara Carper owns Hannah, from the Ch Kiyara The Intimidator x Ch Holbrook
Oakwood Arpeggio litter… Hannah has her CDX, a tracking title, and she is a
Master Agility Champion x 4. She has been on seen on several Invitational’s
and she makes all poodles look good!
Amelia, from that same litter, has a Rally Novice title and is mother to
Benson, our duck hunting poodle! Benson also has 11 agility titles at only 3
years old and he is the father of our Denmark boy, Benson Jr at Warming
Kennels.
Amelia has a new litter which is a repeat of the Benson cross. We are
excited about these puppies, for obvious reasons!
 I obtained a pure Dassin girl (famous poodle lines) from Mary Goss and she
produced the current dogs in training. Justice, with Skip Smith, is already
titled
 at 17 months. Max who is in training with Judy Chat, Rory has passed
his TDI evaluations at St. Joseph In The Pines, and Cricket, who is bound
for WC; WCX training with her new owner Josh Pressley. And our SHOW girl
Traci (Oakwood Trace Evidence) won Best Bred by in Show her first time in
the ring. She is co owned with Karen Worsham, who has also trained UDX
Schnauzers.
On the ground now is our last litter from the Dassin girl bred to the Benson
dog. Curzon’s puppies were born 10/20/10 and there will be three male
puppies for sale. Two will be Klein sized - poodles over 16 inches at the
withers make great agility
dogs. Actually, like all our poodles, they will
be great for hunting, obedience, and any performance sports.
 We love the black poodles and there are three male miniature puppies
available from this litter.
 Testing is complete on all our adult poodles and certification copies are
provided with puppy packets. We adhere to low vaccine protocol as per Dr.
Jean Dodds, and our poodle puppies get Holistic and raw food right along
with the adults.
