The marker for CHG was located quickly more quickly because of the affected
puppies donated to research here locally I believe. Two vets in Houston
who worked on this prior to Dr. Fyfe taking over had done much of the prelim
work. These guys are all obviously researchers at heart and worked on this
simply because the opportunity was there and they could. I never once
heard anything about money being an issue. Dr. Kampschmidt in Houston drew
blood and collected mouth swab samples for free for us. There was a
researcher in Ireland I think who received some of the samples also. It
seems a lot of vets and colleges are making big bucks and not providing any
results. I've been there with all of the expensive diagnostics with my
Boxers. Some of the health issues in our dogs are much more complicated
than CHG. Quite a few more variables I suppose. Too bad there aren't
more guys out their like these!!!!!!!
