I do not have a Basset Hound but was neighbor and good friend to Eric White and his wonderful mother, Georgia.  sgksnaSo when the Basset Hound National came to Colorado, they enlisted me and my orneriness and poetry to combine with Eric's fabulous musical ability on the organ.

Here's a sampling.

Remember, on this one it is best to visualize Bassets  ! !

(Melody -Jada)

He's got them, two of them,
He's got them, two of them
They're hanging down below his toes !
He swings them, he sways them
They dangle everywhere he goes!
Watch him trot around the ring,
So elegant, but,
Everywhere he goes, he leaves
A double-grooved rut,
Cause he's got them, two of them,
They're hanging down below his toes -----

We mean his ears!  They're hanging down below his toes!

(This one is to the Melody of Just a Closer Walk With Thee)

The Obedience Dog

Heel, dear doggy, close to me.
Keep your head up by my knee.
Yes, we're back again today, to
Throw my entry fee away.

The last show I took you to,
You piddled on the judge's shoe
When I signaled for the jump - yeah !
You, my darling, took a dump !

We all signalled our dogs "Down"
But when I returned I found
You had scored, but with a switch!
You'd raped a Poodle bitch!

So we're back to try again,
Show them you're no dope, my friend.
You'll do better now, you'll see, since
Your vasectomy!
